As part of South East Water’s Choose Tap initiative – which promotes sustainable hydration and a reduction in single-use plastics – Egan Brothers Facility Specialists were engaged to install a water bottle refill station at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.

The initiative supports frontline healthcare workers, patients, visitors, and volunteers by providing access to fresh, free tap water. Installed on behalf of South East Water’s Priority Plumbing Group, the refill station encourages reusable water bottle use and highlights the environmental impact of sustainable choices.

Scope Of Work

Refill Station Installation:
Supplied and installed a Choose Tap refill station featuring a bottle refill tap, solar lighting, and a digital water meter displaying plastic bottles saved and CO₂ emissions prevented.
New Water Line:
Installed a new water supply line from the opposite side of the courtyard to ensure reliable water flow and system performance.
Preservation of Existing Infrastructure:
All works were carried out with zero disturbance to existing hospital footbaths, landscaping, and garden beds.
Minimal Operational Disruption:
Installation activities were coordinated to ensure no interruption to hospital operations, with all works completed safely and discreetly.
